Howdy all-
So, because I've shared bad personal news, I also share good personal updates:
The boy (I like calling him that too, Helene..) and I got back together. He couldn't resist this crazy blogger, and, so, here we go again on better terms. *cross fingers*

Since I had been boggled down by that part of my life, the academic in me hasn't done much with her blogging thesis. Oops. I have been thinking about it, however, so that has to help a little... and I am glad to hear from you, Kevin, that people are still talking about it. I'll have to get on the stick now that I feel better about things in general.

P.S. To those Mac users out there, I have a question- I realize that I probably just need a new computer (my iBook is about 3 years old now), but it's starting to be a putz.. the 'on' button didn't work today right away (and I am always timid to push too hard) and when I put it to sleep last night, the screen went black, but the sleep light didn't come on right away. It's working fine now (updating it's software, etc).. but I am wondering if anything else could be wrong. Anyone??

I feel as lost as if I was milking a cow!

Hi all. I haven't posted much since Bison Blog built some momentum--didn't want to interfere with a good thing. As a professor, I know I can kill a good conversation just by looking in the direction of a group of students ; )

But, that said, I just got back from the annual "Computers and Writing" conference and wanted to let everyone know that blogging is still a hot topic among teachers of writing. I met a grad student from Boston College who grew up in Fargo: check out Tim Lindgren's site and say "hi". He delivered an excellent paper on "place-based blogging," and he has an essay on his site about growing up in Fargo.

As far as I know, The Bison Blog is still unique to the blogging scene. Harvard Blogs and UThink at the U of Minnesota provide a directory of student blogs, but The Bison Blog is a real community. Go Herd! And thanks Sybil!! Hope you are feeling better!
