So, today's topic should simply be Windy Saturday (or something with more wit built into it). Sheesh. That's ND weather for ya, I guess.

Meanwhile, I was thinking this just now: How many times will it take for me to stop doing this-->
"Sybil, what's your thesis all about?"
*DEEP BREATH* <---- that right there.
"Well, there are these things called...."

Everytime. The thing is I want to tell people about it but can't I just hand out a booklet on it..?... I hate repeating myself. Plus, I have many friends with short term memories. Heck, all my family members are like that too. I have an elephant's memory. The other day, I saw a student I had probably 4 years ago, and I remembered her name instantly. Now THAT is amazing!

For those returning to the BB after SB,
What have you been up to, and what have you learned over the course of this week?

Ooops. Missed Thank You Thursday: Thanks to my siblings for leaving me in an empty house.. it has been SO nice and QUIET (with the occasion racing match between the cats up and down the staircases).

What a lovely Friday.. I am inside for a bit doing laundry, but the drive this morning to eat with my bf was so nice.. it's warm and he even said: "The breeze feels like the type of breeze on a lake." I closed my eyes and was excited at the fact that SUMMER is coming. Eeeek!

Hmmm... for my FreeBie Friday I think I'll just say this: Tomorrow I am going to a baby shower. The first one I have been to for someone that wasn't a relative. Does this mean I am getting old? I bought some things for her as well as the babe. I figure: a happy mom = a happy baby. Plus, I'll be traveling to it with an undergrad buddy of mine (the girl having the baby, Jessica, is another undergrad friend... oooh English geeks together once again!).

Tomorrow night, my reign as queen of the house will be over. How depressing.

Yes, boys are difficult. I know we are too... but I don't ask much. I know I don't.

And as for ebay- what are you bidding on, Helene? There are some TimGirl boots that I want BADLY for the rest of this winter and for all the winters after... erg. Whether to splurge or not... they are practical AND cute. Darn it. Decisions, decisions....

Meanwhile, I have lots of green on today. Happy St. Patty's Day all! {I am like 1/100 Irish.}

Oh, and I have a right to be Ticked Off a little at boys right now, AND the fact that while my hair looks cute up with lots of bobby pins and green clips of hair, it STILL hurts a little. Good old ibuprophen to the rescue. For Weird Wednesday, I'd like to state that.. isn't it weird that when you sleep, it doesn't seem long, but it ends up being like 2 hours and you have a dream that lasts five years?

9:30: Poofy-haired girl and her coarse beard-wearing brotha went to Lauerman's #2 to eat and watch American Idol (why do I care?).

Why do I keep biting on the inside of my cheek?

7 o'clock: I don't like that I sometimes focus on the 30% of my life that isn't working right (the 30% of my students that don't "get it," the 30% of my thoughts that are negative, etc) instead of the 70% going WELL.

Hi Helene!
I like the Ben and Jerry's Frozen something with brownie chunks in it. Mm Mm. Time for dinner.

6 o'clock: Isn't it a bit sad that I can easily tell the difference between a 12 point font and 14 point font, a 1" margin versus a 1.3" margin, a double-spaced paragraph versus a 1.5 spaced paragraph?
5 o'clock: When eating peanuts, one pair should be chomped on by one side of the mouth, the other pair - the other side, like M&Ms.
Since it looks like it's just gonna be ME on this thingie until you all come out of hibernation (a.k.a. Spring Break), I am going to do something fun.. I am the hostess afterall. Every hour today (until I get bored) I will write one sentence. A thought. An idea. A whacky something er other. If anyone is "out there" and cares to join me, I'll be as happy as a.... girl with new shoes.

4 o'clock: Yesterday, I learned that my gray kitty is 11 pounds of gray fur and ghetto bootie.

WE HAVE FRIENDS! More North Dakota people who blog blog blog....
Rock ON, huh? Yup. Took their blogroll and I have been contacted by Robbie Port about adding more ND blogs. So if you want to be on THEIR list as well as the BB's list, click on North Dakota Blogs over there ------> [under the list of us] and sign up. Duh.

I figure, they are the grown-up site.. and we are the college kid site. I'm not sure what the differences are yet.. but they filter/link more than we do.. well, besides Dave. :-) Where are you, Dave? Heck.. where are the rest of you... if any of you are on a beach right now with a drink that has an umbrella in it... oooooh, I will be TICKED off. But I will save it for tomorrow's rant.

Peanut-eating and abstract-writing I go...
*If I could get just a dime for every swear word coming from my brother and father right now working on the new bathroom in the basement, I would be very rich.*

The book I am having my students read, The Giver, is very interesting. In this community (utopia-like) the people take pills to lower their hormones so they won't having wanting feelings towards the opposite sex.. weird. And they have rules for each age.. you get an assignment of what you will be at age twelve. There's tons more, but bascially, it's interesting stuff.

So, I read 60ish pages of that yesterday, and made up some charts for the BB. I have word counts and total posts all figured out, and so I had to play around with some charts. The more interesting stats are still to come. Today, I'd like to do a little more (and read a little more), but I'll have to factor in a drive to the vet and work on an abstract for the TTGT conference at the end of April. Plus, I have volleyball tonight as well. It's a busy Monday.

I remember when I lived in Battle Lake, and I didn't have Caller I.D. I don't know what I would do without it NOW that I have it. I have taken for granted the ability to just not answer the phone. Weird.

Hey all. Well, the cities' trip wasn't too horrible. The wind kicked in on the way back right around Alexandria. GOODness! I dropped my sisters off (practically through them out of the bug while driving through the airport) and proceeded to the grandest place of all.. the MEGA mall. Good times, good times. And I had a goal- to limit my purchases (total) to under $100. And I did.

Plus, I found CUTE CUTE shoes. (Little blue-ish purple-ish heels with a button at the bottom by the covered toes area.)

Another bonus: We spotted a pastel pink bug on the way to the airport. Very cute, but not my color for a car. The Bug is already cute.. let the curves speak for themselves! * I decided that if I ever make it "big," I'll get a Tourag because the Bug is just not made for four girls travelling and shopping. It's not leg muscle friendly. *

Oooh, Jeremiah, the relationship thingie: Been there. There are always about fifteen million things to take into account when dealing with relationships. Thinking about them sometimes exhausts me more than just being in one. And as for the moving.. yes.. we are moving soon to a NDSU server. I am excited, and I hope I don't lose anyone in the web-based joy ride to a new hub of fun...
