Suppose to snow/sleet/rain tomorrow. And I have to bring my sisters to the cities to get on some airplanes to places... yippee skippee. Next time, I am telling them to fly out of Fargo.
Credit cards are EVIL. I was really, really good about 'em when I was an undergrad. But once I was job-less before my first teaching job for a month, it started.. the ability to not pay 'em off right away. Dang it. Thus began the snowball effect. Well, at least I have good credit and offers of 0% here and there. I know people who are doing worse.
I read something today about just being good to yourself- making that your focus. No future worries, etc.. and I thought, yea.. that's it. It's hard to do, but it's a good plan.

Hey all. I am not going to say anything about tests.. cuz I don't take any anymore. Yipppee. But I was there long ago.. I feel your pain.
I am thankful for cool-smelling lip gloss.
I am thankful for cool people on campus that want to help me out with the BB project.
I am thankful for cool former English teachers that think of me taking their spot when they retire (love ya, Mr. Wall!).
I am thankful for my dad coming up and dropping off homemade cookies. And cash.
I am thankful for Walmart.
I am thankful for funny workers at Walmart in the fabrics dept.
I am thankful for a week of naps, lists, coding, and shopping.
How many of you will update us on your Spring Break comings and goings? Hope to see you "on here."

Sybil Sightings, eh? Huh. Well, yup, I was beat at the "English conference thingy-ma-bobber," Dave [thanks for your interjections- you should have come up and said HI!].. I had spend quite some time redoing my darn paper to present. I hope I didn't look like utter crap. And last night, yup, I was sporting new shoes that will slowly but surely find their way either a) smacking my brother in the head, b) trekking back and forth to Petco (my goldfish have whitespot disease- it's crappy to watch them die even when I play doctor), or c) on my sister's feet because she steals my stuff all the time.
I have a LOT to be TICKED OFF about, let me tell you:
- Boys, particularly MY BROTHER, who decides to treat me like crap for no reason (word of the day: crap).
- Goldfish that die when they have been living JUST FINE for so long. I am cursed when it comes to fish. I had one commit suicide once into my shoes that were sitting below the aquarium when I was younger. That was a fun finding they next time I had to throw my shoes on.
- Bruised kneecaps from volleyball (however, we did kick butt last night, so I suppose it was worth it).
- Bartenders that are putses.
- Having absolutely no ambition to do ANYTHING. Not even eating toast.
Actually, things could be worse. This I know. And, Jeremiah, when you asked me last night about my coding, I should have said that I was having an okay time with it all. At least I like what I am researching. Some thesis-writing fools right now can not say the same.

Popping on to say hi:
Hello
Thought I'd drop in as it's been a while since I posted and I have work that I probably should be doing. Sybil I saw you at the English conference thingy-ma-bobber, excellent speech. I was the guy who interjected with answers to other peoples questions afterwards. I just get things in my mouth that I have to say sometimes. You looked pretty tired too. That's all I got for now I best go get some work done.
God Bless
Discrete Dave<><

Ah... the week before Spring Break where everyone falls off the face of the earth because of tests... last minute this and thats... preparations for relaxation.... All of this while the lonestar blogger chows on a chicken salad sandwich after walking in the beautiful March weather. Ahh....
Lovely.
I remember when I thought I should really, really plan to go somewhere for Spring Break. This year.. I get to go somewhere cool; it just comes later for me. I'll be in San Antonio during Easter Break. It's warm there. I'll be by a huge shopping center. I'll get to meet other cool blogger-types. SOUNDS like a vacation to ME!

I have been all about chocolate in little doses lately. Must be another fad of mine.
Story from this weekend: I looked all cute in pink and black (pink newsboy hat, black skirt, black boots, pink belt) on Friday night for a fellow TAs Bday party.. well, we all meet up at the bar. I think I see a 2nd cousin of mine at the table next to us. I go up to buy her and I a shot, walk over, and she does a triple take remembering my face. We laughed, and she said: "I have been making fun of your outfit all night!" She's a tomboy, you see, so she didn't quite "get" the cuteness, but we got a good laugh out of it and she swallowed her foot along with the pink shot. Later on I got called Britney Spears and J.Lo too... not sure if those are complements. Perplexing.
Story from right now: Just got done watching Scrooged while I am finishing up my week #1 coding... why is it that that little kid's line: "God Bless us, every one" gets me everytime!? I got teary-eyed, and it's not even Christmas! Movies!
