Our posts lately have connected somewhat to something I encountered last night...

What do you do with people who are racist? [besides yelling at them? that's what I tried last night]

Example: A friend of mine let's past situations with his friends ("A Mexican beat up my buddy with a bat.") determine how to treat those people now, in the present and probably in the future. How can I change his thoughts? Plus, I know others who allow their parents feelings on groups of people (my dad doesn't like "those people")... how OR CAN we change this??

{This will be our first topic to start the BisonBlog study of February.} Please help me out with this question. I'd appreciate any advice or stories or feedback.

*p.s. 10 above is going to feel like bikini weather after last week!!

You guys have some deep stuff going on here (which is SO AWESOME!!).. I'll reply after I feed my noisy stomach (food = brain energy). Here's something ELSE to think about:

I heard a rumor today that our president doesn't want the news or whatever telling people how cold it is here on campus lately.... has anyone heard this? Is he afraid it'll scare people off from coming here? *frown*

"It's beginning to FEEL a lot like winter... everywhere you go."
That's why you should stay home, drink hot chocolate, and blog.
For my study starting in February, I am going to keep a BisonBlog Log (book). Isn't that funny-sounding? Maybe it's the DayQuil/NyQuil I am on.
I sometimes think that abortion isn't the problem to tackle.. but rather why or how these women are getting pregnant (condoms in schools versus pregnant teens- hmmm which one is easier for society to deal with?). But to answer your question, Jen, I guess.. it all depends. I don't like to make decisions for others (which is why I am ProChoice). Maybe this mom is awesome. Maybe these kids grow up to really change the lives of others versus people that were born able to see, etc that don't do crap with their lives.

Isn't it weird how those that are born with the most advantages, sometimes never do anything with that "luck," but those born to the worst of situations, sometimes overcome and do amazing things. You always hear more about the latter. And VH1 manages to make everyone's life sound like the latter as well.

As for the presidential options, I'll go with the martini man.

Jeremiah's busy schedule: Offta.
Crazy New Year's Eves: Total fun.
Gamers United: Rock on.
Being up at 4:30: Ew.

Having an adored car not start for the first time since I'ved owned it (4.5 years). Devastating.

THAT is how cold it was. My car (not to brag, but I will anyhow)- the VW Beetle- is tested to be able to survive the coldest of cold and the hottest of hot (they are tested in Duluth and Vegas). Well, today... I'll I got was: rrrrm rrrrrm.

I almost want to cry, but I am too COLD and too PISSED to do so. I hate Mutha Nature today.
Ugh I don't have the internet because cable one wants a down payment on the modem and service. I used the possible down payment money for food, still not sure if that was a good choice. I CAN'T PLAY GAMES ONLINE!!! I'm getting a little twitchy with out an active online gaming community. But hey on the topic of gaming communities my gaming organization is almost rolling, thanks in part to Kevin Brooks. We have one more form to fill out and then we have to meet with a board of some sort then we will be officially recognized as Gamers United(What do you guys think of the name?).

For spring break I'm going on a Habitat for Humanity mission trip to North Carolina.

God Bless

Jenn, that was probably the most hilarious New Year's story ever. I have a crazy one that involves kissing someone I don't know, but yours.. well, I can just picture it in my head. Those are the best stories. *giggle giggle*

I just realized right now, sorta, that I am a nocturnal blogger. I like to write right before bed. Some like to read before bed and journal in the morning. What can people write about in the mornings besides really strange dreams? And I've heard if you read before bed, you could end up with parts of what you read in your dreams.

Favorite-est Question: Why do we park in driveways but drive in parkways?

Well, I would have gotten on here yesterday, but I wasn't anywhere near my computer all day. I was eating, eating, and eating. My parents came up and baked me a cake (while fixing things in our old house), my boyfriend took me to Mexican Village for lunch, and I had Paradiso for dinner. Sheesh. No wonder I am not hungry today.

However, my cold keeps haunting me. I hate waking up with one nostril in working order with a throat that makes my voice seven times lower than it should be. Biggest Pet Peeve: Being sick. Because you can't do anything at 100%. Something totally cool could happen, like when I bought my car, and it still won't be a totally awesome experience because my nose is Niagra Falls!!

How does that one saying go? Feed a cold, starve a fever? Anybody, anybody??
