So, I don't think I have a "winner." Everyone's who's gotten "on the horn" and blogged this week, gets my nod of approval (not that that means much probably) and gets the "Blogger of Week" award. I don't have trophies. Sorry.

I did, however, notice that many of us (you) blog with insights, ranting, observations, and basic comments on the mind.
Helene writes much about insight into the human condition (2/14): her own and others. Jenilee's recent entries have included interesting questions on gray hair (2/12) and self-reflective thoughts while showering (2/12 morning). Dave is all about reviews of games, etc. Jen sometimes blogs a personal story with advice about some not quite related, but helpful. Alisa, my sis, has a poem about lost love (2/9). Katie links looking back entries with entries detailing the trials of mixing school and a serious relationship. Oakie has an excellent little ditty about life (2/12) as well as a list of her top ten concerts (2/10). Chuck is also self-reflective and takes ideas from classes and pertains them to his personal life and blogging. Daryl simply throws out some good old fashion ranting. AND Chelsea combines ranting and insights easily in her blogging style.

As for me, well, I blog on my research and teaching blog in order to help out students, complain once in awhile, and research just what's happening on the good old BB. It serves many purposes, and it's relieving as well. Bonus.

Is anyone up for another categorically-filled week on the BB?
Oh- and this is for Jenilee who's having difficulties getting on "here" (darn Blogger!):

Oh, and since it is Wish Wednesday or something on thebisonblog and I have yet to figure that thing out, I will write my wish on here:

I have decided lately that if I could have one wish it would be for my dad. I wish he could go back to college. I was talking to him and realized how much he envied me my college expericnce. He's looked at courses and such, but right now there is neither the time nor the money for it. So, there is my wish.

Well, before I venture into the wilderness known as the BisonBlog personal sites, I need to grab some chow (a.k.a. "Taco Hell"). I think I'll pick someone with the best entry from this last Monday-last night at midnight.

Meanwhile, I do think Valentine's Day is overrated, and I am not just saying that to be "cool with the dudes." I'd rather get something (like a werid flower) for my car's vase in the middle of October from my someone special. There's no surprise in V-Day and there's too much pressure.

Anyhow, I am just SUPER happy that next week is going to be warm. And I am happy that my rockin' siblings already cleaned the house from the people we had over last night.

2.13.2004

Alright so it's Friday and I have to share a scary story or something. I'm not much for scary story's but hey it is kinda interesting that tomorrow is Valentines day. There has to be some sort of Valentines day horror story out there somewhere. Anyway I did a quick search for something since I can't think of anything so here's a link to a scary story.

I was hoping to get in on the other topics but I was distracted. There really are few things in life like sharing the experience of running through dungeons killing hordes of monster with ones friends.

On a musical note for electronic music I would personally have to recommend the Nine Inch Nails. It's not pure electronic and it can be a little heavy at times. The Fragile, the latest album, is the most refined. You may have heard of them before but I think a lot of people see the name and are turned off by it. Johnny Cash fans out there probably know the song "hurt" which was written by the Nine Inch Nails(Trent Reznor to be precise).

Kinski has some decent music that is mostly intrumentals.

If you wanted to make a will of soda cans what would you use to make them stay together?

God Bless

Friday the Thirteenth.
I am not super superstitious with certain items because I have lived with a black cat for most of my life, I am clumsy enough to break mirrors, etc, and I just don't get the "under the ladder" one. But I do have lucky numbers (3, 7, 25), and I do do the "knock on wood" thing when people say bad things that could occur (especially during football season).. it's hard to find furniture made out of real wood these days though. Plus, I do knock on the top of my car when I go through yellow lights, but I don't know what that means.

I am not afraid of the number 6 (my parents live at an address with many of that number, and there are 6 in my family), but I do remember a Friday the Thirteenth when someone I knew bought something and it came to $6.66. They were FREAKED out. And I think my mom found our first black cat on Friday the Thirteenth too.

Deep Thought: Last night, I thought about how we can puke up substances that are causing chaos in our stomachs, but we can't get rid of bad thoughts that linger and cause chaos in our heads. Is it more detrimental to have bad substances affecting our physical bodies or have bad thoughts affecting our mental capacity? I am going to go with the latter being the worse to deal with. Usually, there is some sort of operation to rid the body of problems.

Helene: YES, list the website on here (in a post).. or send it to me via email and I'll put it actually ON the BB public site. I would LOVE to attend a gathering of techno beats...

Charles: Your list rocks. I am taking notes.

Jen: Excellent deep thought, I must say. I deeply think of my dad's g'pa, G'pa Joe, once in awhile. He taught my dad so much, and the notice of his funeral a while back was the first time I saw my dad's heart break.

Dude(s)... [I try to be young and hip and use "Dude" once in awhile. It's good fun. Like using "Yo!"].. I have to admit I am new to techno. I'd say ever since I started grad school, I have realized that that is MY GENRE. I have always loved dance music.. and when I taught h.s. I usually listened to Moby, Enya, Dido.. while in my car. Anyhow, I don't discriminate (not saying you two do by any means) simply because I can't really tell who is better at smacking music electronically together. I love the stuff. I will have to hear some of these people you talk of.. Digweed and Sash? Recently, my friends from WA state have gotten me into the Chemical Brothers, Prodigy (LOVE it!), and Daft Punk. Please teach me.

Chelsea- rockin' list. I hope at least one of 'em happens to ya. However, I'd hate to tell you that even though I have a Major and a degree, I still want to do many other things. I think it would be totally 3rd wave feminist of you to stay home and be an artist. Do what you want (that's what the 3rd wavers say) because that is your decision.

Good morning, Charles (we'll have to talk techno sometime) and WELCOME, Helene!! It's fantastic to see a new BB on here during Sweeps Week! *giggles with glee* (does anyone use the word "glee" anymore?)

My wish is for more confidence in myself.
This wish could lead to the coming true of other wishes, I hope. And this week, I need some luck/wishes coming true/good karma on my side. *deep breath*

Take care all. Onto the Ellen DeGeneres show and a bowl of Mini-Wheats.

2.10.2004

Charles... did you write that b.s. about Paul and techno to tick me off further? Hmmm? Watch your step, buddy, or I'll dance around you in a vicious rave-like dance of flailing arms! :-)

:techno-queen:

Jen, quit beating me onto here! JUST KIDDING. RANT AWAY.
WHEEEEEE..... *hands go up like on a roller coaster*

Today, I am ticked off about:
1-Boyfriends. (That's really all I need to write for that one.)
2-Screwed up relationships that seem to survive when my kinda normal one doesn't.
3-Frizzy hair.
4-Boyfriends that hurt my sisters. (This goes out to two rockin' chics and their toe cracks.)
5-Students that copy work from other sources.
6-All the paperwork that goes into graduating or finishing a stupid thesis.
7-How dry my eyes get.

Seven is a lucky number for me, so by stopping there I hope to have no more things to be ticked off about.

P.S. Jeremiah.. "survival laying." I do that. Erg. Ticks me off that I do that.

2.09.2004

I think I can declare myself the moron of the day for two reasons:

1. I told my girlfriend I think about playing Final Fantasy: The Crystal Chronicles more than being with her.(I was joking but she didn't find it funny)
2. I kept saying "Why do you have elastic on your sleeves?" all morning.

I have managed to patch up my relationship after a stupid comment like that one but the ground is a little shaky.

God Bless

I think that Sean Paul looked like a moron last night trying to sing "Roxanne" with Sting on the Grammy's, but that's my opinion. They had some weird combinations of people singing and presenting... Snoop Dogg and Jason Alexander? Whoa. Coolest un-morons that presented people or things: Sarah Jessica Parker and Ellen DeGeneres.

And, yes, I am a moron on a daily basis... it's too early to tell what I'll do today to consitute being a complete moron.

2.08.2004

This coming week on the BisonBlog will be Sweeps Week... Basically, everyday will have it's very own specific name and topic, and I invite everyone to participate on each day, or whenever you can. Here's the schedule and details:

Monday (Feb.9): "What a Moron!" Monday
Have you or anyone else you know done something really moron-like lately? Please share your story and change the names to protect the moron(s).

Tuesday (Feb.10): Ticked Off Tuesday
Y94, a station many students listen to (like me), has this topic on their morning show. Share something (or things) that ticks you off. It may help relieve some stress!

Wednesday (Feb.11): Make A Wish Wednesday
Everyone deserves to make a wish whether they chuck a penny in a pond or not, so today go ahead and make one. I just might come true!

Thursday (Feb.12): Deep Thought Thursday
Every once in awhile, we all become philosophers wondering about the world and why we're here. This day is especially for those thoughts and ponder-ings.

Friday (Feb.13): Friday the Thirteenth
Share a scary story or post an entry about your favorite superstition.

Saturday (Feb.14): Be My Blogger
Throughout the week, I'll be reading everyone's personal blogs (like I do all the time) and for this day I'll pick someone who had the "best" entry all week, and that person will be crowned: Blogger of the Week. Criteria for the "best" entry is still being determined. Any suggestions?
